DOUBLE STRANDED CROCHET BEANIE- Ame Beanie

 DOUBLE STRANDED CROCHET BEANIE

Crochet this beautiful warm and cozy beanie.  Perfect for the cold weather. The simple stitches create a ribbed look for a very pretty beanie.  Using two different yarn colors creates a bulky yarn and a beautiful, marled effect. It is really simple to make and beginner friendly.

Row 4-to desired row count:  Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 until you reach desired size of the beanie to fit around your head.  My top measurement of panel is 14.5 inches.  Bottom panel was 19.5 inches.  Height of beanie is 12 inches.  Note:  Measure the panel around your head to fit.  Stretch the panel to measure around head for a better fit.

Join sides:  Sip knot, starting from the first chain insert hook on one side front loop only and the other side front loop only slip stitch in front loop only until you reach the end of the row.  Leave a long strand for weaving ends, cut yarn and fasten off.

Close off top:  Put yarn in tapestry needle to close off top of the beanie.  Insert needle and sew in top portion of beanie, all the way around.  Pull strand to tighten until hole is closed.  Tie a knot to tighten a couple of times.  Sew across to make more secure.  Double knot ends, push needle inside the top of the beanie and finish by weaving in loose ends that are inside the beanie.

Beanie is now finished!
